100-Year-Old Time Capsule In Norway Contains Nothing (Nothing Interesting, That Is)

alt

Why can't a person can’t put a COOL time capsule together?

What makes you think the world wants to open a box that’s been sealed for a century to find some newspaper clippings about the county fair in 1912?

Really?! Put "Deep Throat" inside or something!

Alas, such is the thinking of the people who assemble time capsules, including the one unveiled in Norway Friday afternoon.

Supposedly sealed in 1912 -- and handed to the Otta town mayor in the mid-1920s -- the capsule contained nothing more than newspapers, community council papers and notebook ledgers detailing donations for a memorial.

“It’s interesting to see how small amount of money was given,” said one of the curators from the museum who took control of its contents. “Some people are giving half a dollar and some are giving a dollar.”

Yes. Fascinating.

Meanwhile, we still don’t know what happened to the Roanoke colony. Or, who shot J.R.
