Washington, D.C., residents no longer have to feel guilty about spending their money on bar tabs instead of charity, thanks to "Cause."

The new "PhilanthroPub" has raised more than $16K in preparation for its grand opening -- and, if all goes according to plan, the establishment will raise way more funds than that for some great causes.

How does it work?

Customers will visit Cause to drink and be merry. The money that the bar makes will pay the rent, staff and charity. Different causes will be selected every quarter and customers will get to pick which one they want their money to go towards. You can even recommend a cause you love on the website, here.

Founders Nick Vilelle and Raj Ratwani bring years of experience in charitable work -- including Peace Corps/AmeriCorps service -- to the table so, we're definitely excited to see how this turns out!
