We've got to give it to sisters Katherine Kallinis and Sophie LaMontagne -- a.k.a. the Georgetown Cupcake gals.
They know how to have a blast when it comes to cupcake ordinance.
You see, on Thursday the Army celebrated its 237th birthday at the Pentagon and the famed Washington, D.C., bakery was hired to provide some sugary deliciousness (which makes sense, considering that the ladies, who have their own show on TLC, bake 10,000 cupcakes every year for the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan).
But, the duo wasn't content to just bake bunch of cupcakes for the celebration. No, they had to do something with style: a replica M1 Abrams tank made entirely of cupcakes. The cupcake tank was comprised of more than 5,000 camouflage mocha fondant and buttercream cupcakes, weighing in at about 2,500 pounds. Oh, and they also used a 5-inch diameter cannon connected to an external air compressor to SHOOT cupcakes.
Yep, that's pretty awesome.
