The in-house produced app that replaced the beloved Google maps app on the new iPhone has been found to mislabel locations, duplicate places, and just blank on specific geographical locations.
But, the government of Taiwan probably has the best consumer complaint: Apple Maps revealed its top-secret military base.
A Taiwanese newspaper printed a pic of the previously unknown base as seen via the maps apps. Located in the Hsinchu region, the base is the site of a radar system worth more than a billion dollars. Why does Taiwan need a billion-dollar radar system? To tell if China is shooting missiles at them, of course.
Yeah, so keeping that base under wraps was kind of important. The Taiwanese military is reportedly asking Apple to blur out the base, which just seems pointless now.
Good job, Apple.
