Facebook has unveiled its newest feature to the excitement of many: the chance to declare your status as an organ donor.

After hearing about so many social media organ donation success stories, such as Photojojo's Amit Gupta, we definitely think it'll be a great way to help people get the medical help they need.

The addition of the FB tool is also a great way to get the conversation going about organ donation (again). Many Americans are uninformed about the subject, so this should help to stir up some education.

We've hated on Mark Zuckerberg before (remember FB's "Timeline?"), but this one one change we're definitely going to "like" -- because we just heard that California has already seen an immediate spike in organ donations since this feature debuted on FB.
