Hot In Washington: Betty White Honored As National Treasure By Smithsonian

Betty White is officially in President Obama's back yard ... and we are psyched!

The fabulous actress -- who is in town to be honored as an American treasure by the Smithsonian Associates and to visit the National Zoo to talk about her books ["Betty & Friends: My Life at the Zoo" and "If You Ask Me (And Of Course You Won’t)"] -- took a minute to pose for us as soon as she hopped off the Amtrak Acela from NYC.

"I'm exicited to be here," she told Glittarazzi.

We're excited, too, Betty, because you are the definition of national treasure to us! (You are also making Washington look hot with that bright 'n' flowery jacket.)

How beautiful does she look, everyone?!

We love you, Betty!
