The rumors are true, folks.
We've just confirmed that Real Housewives of DC Star Mary Amons and her husband, Rich, have separated after 26 years of marriage.
Are the RHODC cursed when it comes to love? As of today's announcement, all cast couples from the show have either separated or divorced:
- Stacie Scott Turner (recently divorced)
- Michaele Salahi (recently divorced)
- Catherine Ommanney (2010 divorce)
- Lynda Erkelitian (single/divorced before the show)
- Mary Amons (filed for divorce April 2012)
"It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my twenty-six year marriage," Mary said.
"While I have the deepest respect for my husband and wish him the very best, we have grown apart. My primary focus is an amicable process, ensuring the well-being of my five wonderful children and their happiness, which has been, and will always be, of paramount importance," she said. "The weeks and months ahead during this transition will not be easy for them, and for my children's sake, I appreciate you respecting our privacy."
But, let's not focus on the sad since there are a few happy ways to look at this.
First, since none of the RHODC are actually "housewives" now, this leaves room for a new life-after-divorce show. Second, it means we now have more ladies to invite to brunch. And, thirdly, it means there are some new (already trained) men on the market for us Washington, D.C., ladies.
And, if you know the dating scene in our Nation's Capital ... you know we desperately need that.
