We're not sure if you know this, but the sport of American football is not exactly that big a hit with female viewers.

TV broadcasts of NFL games garner predominately male viewers, but the league is working on getting more women into the sport -- and, they're enlisting some famous female fans to help.

With the 2012 NFL season kicking off in less than a month, this week saw the preview of a new ad campaign aimed to get women into football. The ads feature the ladies wearing the jerseys for their favorite teams and a tagline, "It's My Team."

The big ad that everyone's getting excited about features former Secretary of State Condolezza Rice, who once said she wanted to be NFL Commissioner, sporting the jersey for Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Cribbs. Other prominent women starring the campaign include tennis champ Serena Williams, wearing a Miami Dolphins shirt, as well as the women in Redskins Owner Dan Snyder's life, daughters Brittanie and Tiffanie along with wife Tanya (all representing the home team, of course)!

You know, this makes us more interested in football fans than football. But, it's a good start.
