We'll be the first to admit that we love Betty White.
She's a national treasure!
But is she really worthy of making an appearance at the Democratic National Convention? Some people, or, better yet, a lot of people think so.
You see, Betty was one of the legions of celebrity Barack-Obama supports back in 2008, and she remains a vocal supporter of the POTUS heading into the 2012 election.
And, after the whole Clint Eastwood cameo at the Republican National Convention (with his empty chair/imaginary Obama sidekick), some people think the 90-year-old actress should address the Dems.
There's even an online petition -- "Democrats: Ask Betty White to Introduce President Obama at the DNC" -- that has more than 5,000 supporters and a "Bring Betty White to the DNC" page on Facebook with more than 25,000 likes.
Will it work?
Well, a similar online movement got the Golden Girl a hosting gig on "Saturday Night Live" back in 2010, but that had more time to grow and ended up gaining the support of more than 500,000 people on Facebook. Plus, the DNC is this week ... so, we're not holding our collective breath over here at Glittarrazzi HQ.
Still, we love her (since we believe she is still hot) and it would be cool.
