It might be time to get Mitt Romney a democracy coach, especially since he's hoping to become the next POTUS.

The GOP presidential candidate is in London, shaking hands with important folks and doing some fundraising -- but, he started his trip off on the wrong foot.

In an interview with NBC this week, Mitt said he's been hearing "disconcerting" stories about the city's preparedness for the events.

"It's hard to know just how well it will turn out," he said. "Do they come together and celebrate the Olympic moment. That's something which we only find out once the Games actually begin."

Mitt's interview ticked off several important Brits, with the Daily Mail writing the story up under the headline:"Who invited him? US presidential hopeful Mitt Romney questions British public's appetite for the Games during visit to London."

Prime Minister David Cameron also commented when he met with Mitt.

"We are holding an Olympic Games in one of the busiest, most active, bustling cities anywhere in the world. Of course, it's easier if you hold an Olympic Games in the middle of nowhere." (This was a reference to Mitt's hand in the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics.)

Oh, boy. This might be a really chilly trip for you, Mitt!
