You know who loves booing?
The NAACP, apparently.
If case you haven't heard, Mitt Romney was giving a speech to one of the country's oldest and most powerful civil-rights groups on Wednesday and said some things that didn't exactly go over that well. So, the audience booed him. (Of course, some politicos are accusing the GOP presidential candidate of purposely provoking the audience, but that's another story).
Cut to Thursday with Veep Joe Biden addressing the same crowd.
According to all accounts, he was giving a speech that was hitting all the marks – a so-called "barn burner." He even commented on how he was "preaching to the choir."
But, then, the crowd booed Joe! Why?
It seems they were upset that Joe had to wrap up his speech. The boos came when he told the audience: "Let me close, my friends."
Personally, we suspect that they were booing because Joe made it through the whole event without dropping one of his trademark gaffes, which is kind of like going to a Paul McCartney concert and not getting to hear "Hey Jude."
DiD yOu KnOw? ... As a child, Joe Biden stuttered and was teased by his classmates. He practiced reading aloud in front of a mirror and worked hard to overcome it. During law school, he befriended a stutterer and worked with him regularly on his speech. Now, he is known as a loquacious orator.
