Hey, remember Rosanne Bar?
Yes, she's the early '90s comedienne and sitcom star.
Well, what you probably didn't know is that Roseanne was almost a candidate on a ticket in the 2012 presidential election. It's true!
Allow us to explain. ...
Earlier this year, Roseanne ran a last-minute campaign for the Green Party presidential nomination -- where she ended up in second place. The nomination went to Jill Stein, a Massachusetts physician who's run for governor a couple of times.
According to insiders, Roseanne came close to actually getting on the ticket.
A spokesperson even justified to reporters that the party considering having the woman responsible for singing the "Star-Spangled Banner" at a San Diego Padres baseball game -- depsite the fact that she can't sing -- on its ticket was a good thing, saying, "It's a sign of the maturity of the Green Party that we have attracted somebody as well known as Roseanne Barr and as admired for her acting career and activism."
This situation got us thinking.
Roseanne, we know you're pretty liberal, but Mitt Romney's still searching for a running mate and we're pretty sure that the two of you on the same ticket would be a slam dunk win this November ... and an amazing reality-TV show.
