Money, money, money. Monnn..eeyy!

It makes the world go round.

And, if you're cynical enough, you argue that it wins elections. Of course, we're of the opinion that a healthy war chest just translates to a candidate receiving strong support. And it seems Republican Candidate Mitt Romney, who's campaign recently announced hitting major fundraising milestone, is getting some strong support.

You see, Mitt's money collecting has been kind of running slowly -- compared to President Obama's. It makes sense given that he really didn't have the nomination locked up till fairly recently. In April, Mitt's campaign had reported that it raised a combined $40 million in donations with the Republican National Committee, while Obama's team had put together close to $44 million.

But now, things have changed.

According to recent filings, Mitt's camp beat out Obama's team in fundraising for the month of May, BIG TIME. While POTUS's re-election efforts were only able to put together $60 million from donors, Mitt and crew raised $76.8 million.

Wow! That's a lot of money.
